Stonewall launches YouTube channel

Gay rights charity Stonewall has launched a YouTube channel to promote its events and campaigns.

The organisation launched the channel yesterday.

It will have clips about research, campaigns, events and interviews with politicians, celebrities and Stonewall volunteers.

Content currently on the channel includes an interview with a 17-year-old girl who suffered homophobic bullying and an interview with Nat Miles, who authored the charity's research on gay and lesbian people in the asylum system.

Laura Doughty, Stonewall deputy chief executive, said: ‘We wanted to make Stonewall’s communications more engaging, more audio-visual and more lively so our campaign for gay equality at home, at school and at work appeals to the largest possible audience.

"Stonewall’s social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and now YouTube give us the opportunity to get more people behind the cause of lesbian, gay and bisexual equality by providing a platform for new voices to be heard. Watch this space for more exciting developments in the year ahead."

The channel can be found at youtube.com/stonewalluk
