Blonde on Blonde
Marilyn Monroe:(1926-1962) The definition of a blazing superstar, beautiful Marilyn epitomized Hollywood glamour and sex appeal, with her turbulent life on and off screen. She was married and divorced three times, her most famous marriages were to: baseball star Joe DiMaggio from January to October of '54, and to playwright Arthur Miller from '56-'61. Her figure, of course, is the stuff of legend, measurements in her prime were given as 37-23-35. Certainly, no one will ever forget the night she donned a handmade rhinestone-encrusted Jean Louis gown, which she had to be sewn into, so she could sing a very sultry version of "Happy Birthday" to President John F. Kennedy, in 1962. In '99, that dress was auctioned off for almost $1,300,000, by Christie's, making it the highest price ever paid at an auction for a woman's garment.
"Fashions come and go, styles change hourly, but Marilyn is eternal" -Strodder.
