The House Dress

The House Dress: is a garment with a multi-sided identity: a uniform for housework, a light dress for the summer, daily wear for women in rural families, and also a staple item in the collections of many fashion designers. The idea of the house dress is very much related to the concept of housework and domesticity. At the same time, it stands out, thanks to the particular patterns of the fabric. Starting in the late 1940s, a whole series of movies contributed to its image through a barrage of remarkable female characters, including Pedro Almodovar's 2007 film: Volver. The House Dress has become a fashion timepiece, because of its distinctive and effective features, which led to its success and worldwide use.
