This Little Bird

Between the time Marianne Faithfull released her first single, "As Tears Go By" and "Sister Morphine" in 1971, the sixties singer became a member of the coolest boys club there was-and her oufits showed it. She went from wearing sweet baby doll dresses of a seventeen- year -old (albeit one who left convent school to go on tour with the Hollies and Gerry and the Pacemakers) to boyish jackets, silm sixties style suits that look like they could have been borrowed from Mick, tailored shirts, and even ties. After spending all that time with the Stones, who wouldn't come out looking like a rocker in her own right?
