I Can't Stand It I Know You Planned It. I'm Gonna Set It Straight, This Watergate.

Gotta Love Baseball

--In the last 60 years only three times has a team given up at least 8 unearned runs in what will now be referred to as an Astros Afternoon E-light. Houston is the team that has “accomplished” that feat three times in the last 60 years. See you thought watching Monday’s game was a waste of time. Nope it was history.

--I’m pretty sure that right-handed batters hitting .510 off Brian Moehler is not, in fact, a good thing.

--Bill Hall goes hitless in 20 straight at-bats and then promptly singles home the winning run in a 1-0 Brewers win over the Cardinals.

--The Rays lead the Indians 10-2 in the 8th and, of course, lose 11-10.

--Diamondbacks up 7-1 on the Padres in the 8th and lose 8-7. Oh yeah San Diego has won 10 in a row. You know it's gonna be a long season when you win 10 in a row in mid-to-late May and you're still 7.5 games out.

--The Phillies have twice as many victories on the road as they do at home.

--Ranger slugger Chris Davis has over twice as many strikeouts (66) as hits (30).

--I’m sure Chris Carpenter will give up a run sometime, but he hasn’t in his first 23 innings this season.

--Congratulations to the Giants who finally got their first home run of the season from their first baseman. Travis “Home Run” Ishikawa ended SF’s 1B drought.

--The Nationals continue to swing for the fences. First there was the Natinals jersey debacle. Now it’s bobblehead boxes with Teddy Rossevelt. Plenty of time for Wazington to learn how to spell Stephen Strasburg.

Quick Hitters and Random Thoughts

--In Just Go Away news we have Jayson Williams getting arrested outside a club for allegedly punching someone. If Jayson isn’t careful one of these days he’s going to go to jail for killing someone.

--Good news is that there are new Frosty flavors. The bad news is that there are new Frosty flavors unless flavors like Frosty-cino and Coffee Toffee Twisty Frosty sound good to you. Even if you dip your fries in those flavors I can't imagine them being good.

Hey CW! You're CW! Any show that comes to you with Minka Kelly and Gabrielle Union you put that sh** on!

--This is without a doubt the best link of the week. Classic dance-off between UConn and South Florida baseball players during a rain delay.

--If there was any doubt about whether Walter White was hardcore I think we got our answer last Sunday. Holy Sh**, that was the best last scene of a non-season finale this year. Breaking Bad is one helluva Don’t Do Heroin public service announcement.

--Wait Red Bull Cola has cocaine in it?

--I didn’t have high hopes for 98, but the ho-ly sh** factor of the main event helped. What else can you say about Lyoto Machida? I know you can’t say the word “boring” anymore, not after his last couple of times out. It also makes Tito Ortiz’s loss to him look even better. Serra/Hughes could have gone either way. In the Predictions on the Brawl Sports Blog Jeremy talked about how Frankie Edgar was a reigning champion on his Undisputed. I assume Sean Sherk didn’t shoot for a takedown on the game either. Might want to rethink that Sean. I need to get Undisputed.

--C’mon Lou Diamond Phillips you’re better than I’m a Celebrity….Get Me Outta Here. You’re freakin’ Richie Valens and Richie doesn’t belong with the likes of Sanjaya, a random Baldwin and Spencer/Heidi. RICHIE!!!!!!!!!!

--How Bruce Lee Changed The World is some pretty good stuff on History Channel. Cowboys rookie Asaph Schwapp must have been inspired by it since he was busted at the airport for having a throwing star and knife in his luggage. Sorry Asaph, not even Cowboys get to carry throwing stars in airports.

--Personally I liked him better in Silver Spoons. "First name: Mister. Last name: T"

--Cameron Frye's house is selling for $2.3 million if you got that kind of money just lying around.

--Obviously "cool as a cucumber in a bowl of hot sauce" is one of the greatest lyrics ever penned. Next Beastie Boys album will be titled Hot Sauce Committee.

Questions, comments or if you’re pretty sure that even with the NBA and NHL playoffs ratcheting up that the best and most exciting play you’ll see all week will be Syracuse’s game-tying, near last second lacrosse goal against Andy Bernard’s Cornell team…
