October 1946 - French designer Charles Montaigne fashions an evening gown from yards and yards of pink and lavender striped silk. Two criss-crossed swathes of fabric form the bodice, leaving a bare midriff at the center.
My fantasies about Spring have been dashed. Here in Boston, we're about to get slammed with a good old New England Nor'easter. The weather says 4-6" of snow today and another 5-8" tomorrow. Oh joy. I wouldn't mind so much if I had this 1946 Carven pink velvet robe completely lined in Chinchilla fur. A girl can dream, can't she? As it is, though, I think I'll go hide under the covers.
