Larissa Riquelme has fulfilled the same kind of promise during the last World Cup and got famous in Paraguay with 'Novia del Mundial' (World Cup girlfriend).
Such promise is a kind of extra dose of motivation for the Paraguayan team; while the team’s fans will be interested more than ever in the victory of their team in Copa America.
Sports lovers might remember the same kind of promise made by Indian model Poonam Pandey conditioned with the victory of her team in 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup; but she didn’t fulfil her promise despite India won the World Cup.
The Paraguay team is in Group B with favourites and title holders Brazil as well as Ecuador, whom they faced Sunday, and Venezuela.
"I think we'll do well at the Copa," forecast Riquelme, who intends to follow all her country's matches on the spot.
Her fans will doubtless hope she is right.
