This is how the Chinese do!

The following is a list uniquely brought to you by astoldbyannabanana :D

Disclaimer: If you have to click on any of the links to understand something, then it is my sad duty to inform you that you ma'am or sir are not a true Chinese. Sorry Senor :'(

You know you're Chinese if...

- you can't fake a decent Chinese-accented English -> at Asian Club that one day when it was speak with an accent day, the only one talking was Chris Yi; newsflash: he's Korean (only brown speak can turn that accent on and off) *correction: Sherry Li can; she's a rebel
- the prior really upsets you because you can't fake your parents on the phone -> you know because you've tried to practice and it was an epic fail
- a significant portion of your bookshelf is occupied by Chinese School books you never read

*side note: I named my brother David not only after King David in the Bible, but also after the kid David from that first book in mind (大卫).

- as can be seen in the picture above, you have mad Asian bedspreads in your house (maybe on your bed if you haven't assimilated yet)
- you own one of these Chinese blankies

- you are excited by a good coupon
- you would fight with a cashier over a mis-priced item - even if it's only off by a little; sometimes you let mistakes < $1 slide, but only when you're in a good mood
- depending on what year you were born, you own all sorts of zodiac paraphernalia -> for me personally, that would be monkey items:

this just being the tip of the iceberg

- you eat seafood straight up; no sliced fish or peeled shrimp for us
- some relative in your family holds a grudge against the Japanese
- you are surprised by how surprisingly racist your relatives are
- at least one of your cousins is a fan girl
- you grew up on Huan Zhu Ge Ge (环珠格格) -> girls: you had a crush on Wu Ah Ge

- ...and Song Wu Kong (孙悟空) -> when rewatching now you question how you could ever have watched such awful effects and quality...I guess it's our yellow people version of the white kid's Goonies

- you own a karaoke machine -> your parents think they can sing; the objective word being think"
- you know what go is
- you've played go and Chinese chess <- Chinese checkers is for pussies, but you enjoy it nonetheless
- your last name is only one syllable
- you don't need fortune cookies to "learn Chinese" (<- super cute; give to your girlfriend for V-day)
- you know what Xi Yang Yang is (喜羊羊与灰太狼)

- you know what black vinegar is
- scallions, garlic, ginger, and leeks are staples in your diet
- you drink nasty herbal remedies, swallow pills that smell poisonous, and drink medicine from little bottles with straws -> you'd rather not know what ingredients are inside

I could go on, but the list would extend beyond your interest. In any case,
This is how the Chinese do!
Food for thought:
If you're Chinese, do any of these apply to you?
Is there anything major I missed?

It better be worth watching!

I had a lot to share from my day yesterday, but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to blog. You know, because I was busy living my life and all that jazz. In any case, today's blog will in large part be a random compilation of things from yesterday and today.

Yair's Yarns:

In IPLE, Mr. Brodman posed the presenting group with the difficult question of "What's the difference between freedom and liberty?" After some moments of deep thinking and silence from the group as they pondered this impossible riddle, Yair walked up to home plate and took one for the team. His ever so intelligent response: "The spelling?"

Lard from the Lunchroom:

Yesterday they were serving the hands down nastiest looking lunch ever - other than perhaps those strange meat skewers they tried feeding us once or twice. I'm not certain why, but I found this lunch hilarious. On seeing it, I literally broke down laughing -> Aakash will be my witness that upon seeing Chris's lunch I almost died. In response to my question as to "What the hell is that?", Chris responded, "It looks like cat food..."

Yo Yoselevich:

In stat today, we learned about extrapolation. Then Mrs. Y goes, "naturally the opposite would be..." and the class goes "interpolation". Wtf? I thought it'd be intrapolation. Why does interpolation get to be inter? Then extrapolation should be exterpolation, duh. These math peoples have really got to learn their English!

Hangin' with Hamlet:

Let me just say that the movie is completely ruined by this dude:

In the words of Sonam, "This guy's such a tool!"

Buzz from Bianca:

"Beyonce has the best weaves. They use her in shampoo commercials! That's not her real hair! People are just stupid."

*side note: watch the documentary Good Hair by Chris Rock. I watched it last year and I found it fascinating! Learned so much :D

Armaan's Words of Wisdom:

It doesn't matter if you're stoned or hammered, just make sure you follow Kyleigh's Law, and get out of that party before 11:00. You don't want to be caught on the road after hours :P Just Kidding!

His legit pearl of counsel: "One day your life is going to flash before your eyes;
