How to pull off the One-Nail-Matching Trend

One of my biggest beauty obsessions for years now has been OPI's very popular Lincoln Park After Dark, a favorite of many celebrities including Khloe Kardashian Odom and her sisters, but i decided since the color palette for summer is bright and cheerful i would try to find a more adventurous  color. One of my friends showed me a picture of her beautiful pedicure and the color jumped right out at me.

As you can see the color is kind of a sapphire blue shade. I immediately  rushed over to Target to pick it up! (ok maybe like 6 days later) and try it out for myself. But of course there's that new trend that im pretty sure only rock stars can pull off. The all the same color nails except the ring finger or if your really edgy the middle finger trend.  So i decided why not? I'm a beauty editor, i can get away with this stuff! So i found a violet purple color (OPI's Plugged in Plum) and headed out of the store! 

If you do this trend, your definitely need to have colors that work together. Think, would you wear bright orange pants with a blue shirt? Probably not, but if you want to experiment, be my guest! Here's a few examples from faces you may recognize!
