Sam Rainsy denies apologizing to Hun Xen for the grenade attack lawsuit

Opposition leader Sam Rainsy denied that he apologized to Hun Xen after he sued the latter in the US circuit court where he accused Hun Xen of involvement in the grenade attack on peaceful demonstrators in Phnom Penh in 1997.

Sam Rainsy’s denial came after the Cambodian Council of Ministers published a letter he signed and sent to Hun Xen. In this letter, there was no mention of the word “apology” at all, but Sam Rainsy used the word “regret” for his accusation against Hun Xen for the latter’s involvement in this grenade attack.
